What are you saying? Do you want Rick Scott to be re-elected? Even Nan Rich does not want that, and said that she will support Charlie Crist if he wins the Primary.

I’m glad you asked. I’ll be happy to weigh in. Being a woman doesn’t automatically make you pro-woman, if that were the case, you wouldn’t have so many Republican women voting against their best interests. Now, about Taddeo-Goldstein. The only problem I have with her is her complicity in what was done by the party leaders to Nan Rich, a woman. Taddeo-Goldstein was looking out for her own interests, i.e. becoming LG pick, rather than standing up for progressives who have been calling for a debate. In that regard, I feel Taddeo-Goldstein gets what she deserves, and believe you me, a lot more is coming. If she truly cared about what the base wanted, as opposed to what Charlie Crist wanted, she would have been for a debate, not against it. Please don’t say she needed to stay neutral, because neither she, nor the party leaders, stayed neutral in this primary. Make no mistake about it, if Crist is in fact the nominee, I’m going to do everything I can to make sure he loses, because I feel until the party hits rock bottom, they won’t care about what the grassroots people want. They will continue to behave in the dictatorial manner they have throughout this primary. I will never vote for Charlie Crist, no matter what. I’m happy to say that others are following suit. What he has successfully done is turn the Democratic party into Republicans. He is even running his campaign like Republicans. Instead of being turned off by Joe’s comments, you should be turned off by the treatment of as you put it, a Florida Democrat who has served for many years with passion. If this is how some would treat a woman who has had their back, those people DESERVE to lose.

Joe, I really want to respect your point of view, and I have immense respect for Senator Nan Rich for her many years of passionate leadership and service as a Florida Democrat. But I am incredibly turned off by the numerous comments you’ve left on blogs & Facebook comparing Annette Taddeo to Sarah Palin since the LG announcement — particularly as someone who has advocated so vocally for Senator Rich as a strong woman leader.

Do you really think anyone would be questioning Annette’s credentials to run as a successful businessperson and party leader if she were a man? Would YOU be making this comparison if Nan had named her as a running mate, not Charlie? It’s disrespectful and frankly counterproductive to your own cause to not only turn so quickly on another strong female Florida leader — God knows we have few enough of them as it is — but to use SEXIST attacks against her.

Leslie, I know you frequently weigh in on comments on this blog. Do you condone this kind of insulting, anti-woman rhetoric as a writer and thought leader who is all about empowering progressive women?
