Mr. Roland Martin is forgetting that he too comes from the same people raised by single women; women of all races were taught to care for the home and family. Slavery tarnished the black family, continued through the Willie Lynch Syndrome. Victim is an ugly word and there are no victims, only society created syndromes.

Our men, African American men have been taken away from the home since slavery was first introduced into the USA. Roland did you forget? Single women, sometimes are better at raising their children than married couples. Society continues to take the black man out of the home, no doing of his own. Mr. Roland Martin seems to forget, he too is part of that society.

Our women have always been the stronger force in the black family and have always taken care of the family in the absence of the man do to them working the fields, to looking for work; stripped by welfare to leave the home, and now the Justice System slapping him in the face and locking him up and all due to that syndrome called Willie Lynch. Stop blaming society on the single black woman, not fair.

I agree with everything Ms. Wimes stated in the article.
